Something is wrong with my Internet connection on my home computer - there is none. The external modem appears to be working fine - all wires are hooked up the way they should be-
all lights lit up the way they should EXCEPT to show activity since there ain't none..
Nothing was moved from Sunday evening to Monday morning that would have caused it.
I am not a computer geek - I'm downright computer illiterate actually-
know how to use them but that is it.
Any access I have to the Internet or email is VERY limited at this point-
here at work or at my sister's.
Even tho here at work, we CAN use the Internet on a limited basis,
when one shares their office & work-space with their supervisor then
that translates into almost nil - nata - almost 0 except for the
very occasional time she spends at meetings.
So any posting or commenting that is done by me or the Beaglebratz-
will not be much - very little pictures except what is on Picasa which also ain't much.
I am not sure when this will change, soon I hope.
In the meantime, I'll try not to pull ALL of my hair out.

OMD OMD... I just HATE it when I don't have my internets. I hope this gets cleared up soon beclaws we will all miss you somethingy awful.
ReplyDeleteDid you try to recycle your modem? It could be stalled. My Mommy said to unplug the power cord to modem, wait 2 minutes and plug in. The modem should automatically reset when it powers up (will take another 2 minutes).

Hope Noodles' suggestion helps - we aren't much help here when it comes to 'puter problems. Hope you get it figured out.

IF everything is working fine, the modem and all... it has to be a gateway problem. You'll need a techie to come open it up somehow, I think.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaah dang it! Internet problems are disatrous to us bloggers...always has to spoil da funsies.
ReplyDeleteHope evrything gets worked out soon.

Oh, I feel your pain! Fully understand how frustrating this is for you! Try unplugging everything and go get a cup of tea and then plug it all in again. Sometimes static electricity can cause a glitch.
ReplyDeleteI am on dial up and my server will cut me off if I am trying to download a blog, I have never seen so many "Server not found" and "Time out"s in my life, then of course, it will just disconnect for the fun of it. I can't watch videos, or look at pictures, well, you get the idea. Hate it, hate it, hate it! I count the days... I hope DSL comes soon, but they say MAYBE this Fall. ARGH!!!!!!
Turn off computer...Unplug modem and router from computer.. Wait 2 minutes. Plug in modem and router.. Turn on computer. We had to take these steps twice before it worked. Also try unplugging router & modem fro computer while computer is on. This worked for us

Wish I could help but I am an It idiot. My 2 cents though...
ReplyDeleteWhat Noodles says has helped me sometimes. Also, do you see a USB adaptor near your comp? Try unplugging and plugging that back too. Good luck!
Well PFFFFFT! Have you tried giving the puter a good whack? That sometimes works for me ;)
ReplyDeleteHope it stops acting up on you soon!
Waggin at ya,
