MAJOR FRUSTRATION - UPDATE to come later

WARNING  WARNING  WARNING

VENTING AHEAD!!!

Why is it so %T#$% friggin difficult, especially for a MAJOR FEDERAL health care agency with tens of thousands of patients with chronic illnesses to understand that just maybe it cannot be determined or specifically stated when an employee with a chronic disease will be healed enough or well enough to return to work.  Then you have to deal with the doctors who insist on taking a 'wait and see' approach to the improvement or healing of that condition. Now if I could win a million dollar lottery so I could pay my house off and pay other bills including mounting medical bills and needed prescriptions as well as over the counter meds that insurance won't cover plus the food for me and the Beaglebratz then sure, I would be more than happy to take that same "wait and see".  But are those same doctors willing to pay any of those expenses - I don't think so.  My specialist is helpig me a little with small samples of the eye meds that I need but believe mewhen I say that is a small fraction of the total cost of those meds. Then these same doctors who want to 'wait and see'are slow to complete the paperwork you need to guarantee that your job will be waiting for you and that your employer will cover the cost of your health insurance until you get back to work (so you can pay it back - but at least it is there when I need it).  Ok, enough venting for now.

As I spend my day, thinking about the above and wondering ifit will lead to bankruptcy oand selling my house - having to retire due to my disability, those positive thoughts sometimes are downright impossible to maintain or seem to come and go.  Sometimes the depression and sadness try to take hold BUT then I think about ALL ofmy great Blogville friends - both 2 and 4 legged and all the positive and pawsitive vibes they are sending my way.  Thank goodness for the computer and being able to enlarge print - I love reading all your comments, I feel like that is still 1 thing I have.

AND OF COURSE
FOR IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK

How does one stay sad and down when this (Shiloh) is looking at you with a wagging tail?

  1. Hi Kim and Beaglebratz
Hang in there - it will get better. My Mommy went through the same thing when she smashed her foot and was off work for 5 months. The doctor kept doing the wait and see and good enough thingy until she got good and mad and MADE him think out of the box.
    Good luck with everything.

  3. Hi Kim,

Your frustration seems to be endless, I have the same problem but on a different part of me. Feels like all they want is the $$ and don't care about the actual person. I sure do hope they all get their act together and fix you in a timely manner!

  8. My mom broke her arm at work and they were all the time trying to 'wrap it up' as in get finished healing already. It's especially a pain about the eyes--my mom has problems, too. She lost her job but she found one online and is working on more novels to put on Amazon--you can even buy software and dictate your novel. There might be some options for your mom. We hope and pray that she will get the help she needs.

  9. Dear Miss Kim, I know that dealing with Red Tape and DOCTORS is a real pain under the tail.
My mom still tells about when her brother was dealing with Cancer.. she finally had to go to one of the doctors and actually SCREAM at him.. and DEMAND that he get the paperwork DONE and DONE RIGHT. She was TIRED of being NICE and being REASONABLE and PATIENT. Her Brother was going to Die and she Said that he did NOT need any other PAIN and Worry in his remaining time... SO she said ... YOU and your STAFF need to get off your ASSES and show some Compassion. If you are NOT capable of doing the paperwork... give it to ME and I will do it FOR YOU and FOR MY BROTHER. ... guess what??? Before she got back home from that... confrontation... the doctor had ALREADY called and said COME BACK and Pick up... the totally Correct and Completed Paperwork...
Remember... YOU Pay the Doctor... HE/She is
    YOUR EMPLOYEE.
Demand that he/she Do ALL parts of their job...
Miss Kim.... I am soooooo sorry that you are going through this rough time. I wish I could send my mom to talk with your doctor.

  10. Wow, I'm so sorry you are going through this horrible scene! Maybe we can all work together to get some national changes to how this whole health care system is handled. People need help, not hassels. Sarge and I are sending warm thoughts to you.
