Shiloh's Dilemma (mom's too) - 2nd post today

Mom Kim here - ok, so I am real familiar with the signs and symptoms of IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) and Disk Degeneration and arthritis - at least when they last a few days to a week or two.  However Shiloh is going through something, maybe different?

It started this past Saturday morning.  I had come downstairs to let Diva Shasta out - Shiloh came down too but a little slower - tail kinda down - not the bouncy step I had been seeing however he did mosey on out the door and slowly down the steps off the deck.  He pottied fine then came in - ate and drank fine.  By the time I left to run errands, about  3 hours later - tail was back up and Shiloh was trotting out to the deck stairs and down to the yard.  However this quick chang, back and forth, would happen at least two more times this past weekend.

Now today - well actually when I went upstairs to bed last night - Shiloh stayed downstairs on his orthopedic bed in the living room whereas he had been going upstairs usually.  So when I left for work this morning-
everything just fine.  When I got home, everything still good - let the Beaglebratz outside and Shiloh trotted across the deck and down the steps (2) just fine with tail up and wagging.  I think he was out too long and doing too much because when he came back in - moving slower and tail down but he still ate and drank fine.  Now when he is acting this way - mopey and tail down, forlorn look then he wants nothing to do with me, even walks away but when he feels better then he will come to me when I call him and sometimes even seek out attention - like just now.

Now I have not yet experienced this - what I consider to be somewhat rapid changes - has anyone else?  As I am finishing this, Shiloh walked over to me then I followed him back to his ortho bed, got him to lay down then covered him up with his towel - not spoiled at all.  Oh - part of it could be the weather - just like people - it has been cool to cold at nite with 70's during the day.        Tomorrow it is supposed to be around 80 so I hope that helps.
If you have any to spare please - maybe a little POTP for Shiloh?

  1. Have you considered doing acupuncture with him? I just saw an interesting article on its use for ACL injuries, and it worked well when my horse had colic. I sure hope he feels better soon!
