Ho Hum - POTP need contines and intensifies

Ok - not gonna try and cover up or make light of this and please be understanding of any typos since my vision is pretty messed up today - even stayed home from work which is a rarity unless my vision just won't allow anything - which is basically wshere it was today.

Ok so for reference, click HERE I had my appt. with the cornea specialist last Tuesday - the epithelial defect that my local eye doc thought he saw  a few days before, was gone - this was good HOWEVER he removed - DID NOT replace the bandage contact lens I pretty much depend on for decent vision (still not sure why he did this but I know leaving a contact on the eye for 2 weeks can also cause problems - should have asked him)  He had PLANNED on leaving it out at least 2 weeks and I was able to work all last week HOWEVER today was different.  Now there is NO DOUBT there IS an epithelial defect (this is like a skin tear on the surface of the cornea) and it is larger than any I have had before.   During my appt today with my local eye doc he also took pics of my eye to email to the cornea specialist and also put another bandage contact lens in (these are basically a contact lens with no power but they PROMOTE healing and maintaining good condition of the eye).  So, after my specialist looked at the pics and read the email, he called my local doc to let him know what the next step is - I have another appt with the specialist next Tuesday (11/11) At least I don't have to take time off for that sppt since I am off that day.  HOWEVER (aren't you tired of that word - I know I am) it is the time between now and then that is really important - a lot of POTP is needed because that defect on my cornea NEEDS to be reduced a great deal or totally gone OTHERWISE I face surgery - another stem cell transplant possibly  followed by another cornea transplant about three months later - this is the surgery I was wanting to put off as long as possible due to time off I would need and finances.

So - the main reason I would appreciate the POTP and prayers is the epithelial defect - my doc says it usually takes awhile for it to heal - I don't have awhile(time off from work)  He has had a hard time before because it healed faster than what he thought it would - thanks to YOUR POTP.

Also not sure how much me or the Beaglebratz will be around for the next few days so if anyone wonders where we are - that's why we are MIA.  Now, before I get any closer to loosing my patience with blogger, I am signing off.  Oh - the Beaglebratz are fine - doing their usual wonderful snuggles and cuddles.

Hmmmmm - kind of odd after my most recent post

Mom Kim here AGAIN!
So I have been lazy - yes, I admit it-
as well as busy taking care of a few chores so
have not posted since my

In that post I mentioned that my
eye/vision which had been worsening was now
somewhat stable.
FAST FORWARD TO TODAY (Thursday, 10/23).
I WAS scheduled to just go and get my contact lense replaced with a new one.
HOWEVER-
for the past couple of days I've been noticing a bit of a change ... and NOT a good change either.
I was not entirely surprised by this but
my eye doctor did find that my vision was about HALF as good as it had been-
was about 20/60 and today was 20/150.
Now while this does sound bad-
that is DISTANT vision which I do not really use since I don't drive anyway.
What I am most concerned with is my
READING vision-
can I still read and do my job-
I can still blog.
The cloudiness is what has changed for the worse along with the development of a
small epithelial defect
(like a skin tear on the surface of your eye).
Once again I have an appointment with my
cornea specialist next Tuesday-
sooner if the need is there.
I am already doing everything else(medicine).

In that post (link above) I talked about
not doing things and letting life pass me by-
part of it too is the "what ifs".
There were some things I had stopped doing because of the "what ifs"-

"What if walking the dogs had a
bad effect on my vision?"

"What if while getting Shiloh or Diva Shasta ready to visit messed up my eye?"

Now I do continue working but "what if" all the computer use is having a bad effect on my eye?
I know I have read that it can so why do I
continue to work altho I'm suppose to
not use the computer to enjoy my life at home?

So now I have to ask myself-
WHY have I given up walking the Beaglebratz
AND
doing therapy visits-
I am STILL having problems with my eye.

Ok - that is enough for now.
Hopefully the Beaglebratz will be bak
for the next post.

And I almost forgot since I'm not all that comfortable doing so-
but I would appreciate your prayers and POTP to
heal that defect and the cloudiness improves.

And once again life interrupted ........

Mom Kim here - please pardon any spelling errors

I am seeing through fog or as the doctor said-

increase in the chance of the cornea transplant

rejecting.   Yes, began noticing a decrease in

my vision the past day or so and by today,

wasn't sure if the bandage contact was still in

so my sis picked me up and off to the eye doc we

went.  The epithelial defect I had that WAS

small - now much larger and there is an

increase in cloudiness which is an indication

of the transplant rejecting so off to my eye

specialist tomorrow to see what is the next

step.

Then I got the totally unexpected news - I have

a possible BASAL CELL CARCINOMA - right side of

my nose, within maybe an eighth of an inch of

the tear duct of my right eye (yesm the one

with the problems).  I know the BCC is the most

common and least serious of the skin cancers (I
.
have already had a melanoma removed from my

right jawline)  It is the last fact and having

both parents die from colon and lung cancer

plus a maternal aunt die from breast cancer is

the reason I worry about this.

Anyway, the Beaglebratz HAD planned a nice

Tasty Tuesday post but that will have to wait

until next week (MAYBE late tomorrow).

Anyway, my vision is telling me I need to stop

for now plus I have a bed that needs sheets on

it and the Beaglebratz need out so guess I will

top for now.  I really do hope this new problem

is shortlived and the Beaglebratz will be here

tomorrow or Wednesday,  In the meantime, if you

have not yet voted in the Dogs of Blogville

Calendar Contest - please see our early morning

post for today for all the details.

And most lastly - as always I hate asking for

myself - would you please say a prayer for me?

THANK YOU
Mom Kim

This iz gonna b short butt not so sweet

We Beaglebratz r handin'over our blog this time tue mom fur a breef plea frum her.  Shiloh also haz an announcement BUTT that will hafta wait a bit so mom can haf her say - take it away mom...

Thank you Shiloh and Shasta.  I think it is safe to say that we all know about tropical storm Isaac - I know Floridians know it well and luckily, it did not create the havoc in Florida that was predicted.  Now as it heads towards the Gulf Coast, there are new predictions - I just read a report from CNN that Isaac will make landfall in New Orleans on the
anniversary of Katrina (Wednesday)
or some say it could come as early as TONIGHT
Whatever the case may be, the prediction is TS Isaac will be less than Katrina (rated 5) it will be at a level 2 hurricane force when it hits shore.  My first prayer is that the predictions are wrong for New Orleans as they were for Florida.  Then, I think many of us watched with tears and extreme sadness the devastation to both humans and pets following Hurricane Katrina - my second prayeris that IF Isaac does become a hurricane, those in command in that area have learned what NOT to do and will DO what is NEEDED to save lives - human and pets.

Now for those closest to my heart in that area - I have a brother and sister-in-law who live in Bush, Louisiana - we heard that they believe they may get some rain-some wind but Bush is northeast of New Orleans - the greatest danger is N.O. and west.  My sister-in-law is a member of the Air National Guard - she is first in command to head up the medical unit as needs warrant.  She was at the Superdome after Katrina - I pray that there is no Superdome-like fiasco with Isaac like that during and following Hurricane Katrina.  I ask for all in Blogville to come together and pray for the safety for all - humans and animals in and around New Orleans and surrounding areas that will be affected by Tropical Storm - probable Hurricane Isaac.  Thank-you.
